Vermiculite as a packaging material
Packing material/liquid binder/oil binding agent/chemical binder
Vermiculite K 3 offers a good solution as a packaging material due to the high absorption, the low thermal conductivity level, the good suspension and low weight.
Vermiculite K 1 is, due to its excellent absorption capacity, used as a universal liquid binder for oils, fuels, chemicals, acids, alkalis, solutions and other fluids by the Fire Brigade, technical services, industry and hospitals. Due to its structure, Vermiculite has an anti-slip effect and Vermiculite offers sufficient grip on oily surfaces for the user. The absorbed fluids can therefore be disposed of more easily without problems.
Vermiculite offers the following advantages
- Affordable
- Very high absorption capacity (up to 5 times its own weight)
- Chemically stable
- Simple handling
- Non-flammable
- Good overall suspension
- Safe to health
- Easy to dispose of
- Low bulk weight (very light approx. 70-80 g/ltr.)
- Low thermal conductivity
- Resistant to acids and alkalis
- Anorganic
- Anti-rotting and non-perishable, no moulding
- Safe against rodents, insects and termites
- Sound-absorbing
- Does not conduct electricity
- Durable without limits
- Reusable
- Environmentally-friendly
